I am a statistician and a data scientist holding positions at the Linnaeus University and University of Augsburg, Germany. At the University of Augsburg, I hold the Chair of Statistics and Data Science at the Faculty of Business and Economics, where my chair is part of the clusters Business Analytics & Operations and Finance, Accounting, Controlling & Taxation. I currently serve as chairman of the German Statistical Society (Deutsche Statistische Gesellschaft). My research focuses on multivariate statistics, econometrics and machine learning with applications to finance, economics, statistical surveillance, and computational statistics. Prior to my current positions, I held appointments as Assistant Professor of Econometrics at the University of Bern and at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder).
