I am a specialist in feminist and political scenography with a Ph.D. in Art History and Visual Studies from the University of Gothenburg (2019). My research interests lie primarily in the field of performance art studies, scenography, materiality, and diverse forms of visual and audio communication. In my Ph.D. dissertation, I examined audiovisuality and material interrelations in live music performances, with the specific focus on bodies, screens, screen visuals and sound. In my international postdoctoral research (Swedish Research Council, 2020-2023), I explored scenography of trauma in the works of women theatre makers in contemporary Russian theatre. In my work, I am addressing diverse artistic practices that engage with trauma, traumatic and post-traumatic experience, memory, and difficult past and its role in cultural and social sustainability. My recent publication applies holistic scenography as a methodological tool to analysis of interventional protests and explors potentials of scenographic glitch in both research and artistic practice. At present I am working on a project that follows Russian women scenographers in miggration and explores how they artistic work is affected by it.
