I am a Senior Lecturer specialising in Technology Education. In 2026, I completed my PhD with a doctoral thesis on programming in technology teacher education for prospective teachers of Years 4–6. I undertook my doctoral studies within FontD, the Swedish National Graduate School of Science and Technology Education Research.
I am particularly interested in issues relating to technology education, teacher education and programming, as well as how teaching can develop an understanding of technological systems and solutions.
Teaching
In teacher education, I primarily teach technology, physics and mathematics education.
Research
My research focuses primarily on programming in school technology education and technology teacher education. In my doctoral thesis, I examined how student teachers and teacher educators understand programming and describe the teaching of programming within technology education. The research highlights didactic opportunities and challenges, as well as how programming can be approached both as a pedagogical tool and as subject content in technology education.
My current research interests include technology education, programming, technological systems, systems thinking and teacher education. I am particularly interested in how teaching can support pupils’ and student teachers’ understanding of programming as part of technological systems and solutions, rather than solely as coding or as a tool for learning.
I am also interested in interdisciplinary questions and the intersection between technology education and mathematics education, particularly in relation to programming, problem-solving and systems thinking.

I am Programme Coordinator for the Foundation Year Programme in Science and Engineering at Linnaeus University in Växjö.
