Research Groups
The doctoral programme in Library and Information Science is connected to the subject’s existing research groups at Linnaeus University. During the period 2023–2027, the programme is also part of national research schools in Library and Information Science and Digital Humanities.
Research groups in Library and Information Science:
- The Library and Cultural Policy Studies research group (in Swedish). The group studies the societal role of libraries within a shifting political landscape, where cultural policy is a central arena for ideological tensions.
- Critical Knowledge Organization Research Group. The group investigates how power is instantiated in the tools and practices for describing, representing, filing, and organising cultural documents, objects and processes.
