The Bridge enables a new learning environment
A new Active Learning Classroom (ALC) has now been inaugurated at Linnaeus University, a flexible, technology-enhanced learning environment designed to strengthen student engagement and make it easier to work collaboratively in groups, discuss ideas and solve problems together.
Through thoughtful room design and high-quality audio and visual solutions, the classroom also creates better conditions for students to participate on equal terms, whether they are on campus or joining digitally.
The investment has been made possible through The Bridge partnership, in which Linnaeus University, together with IKEA and Södra, works to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.
“Through The Bridge, we want to help develop learning environments that give students better opportunities to take an active role in their learning and collaborate with each other, whether they participate on site or online,” says Maria Engelbrektson, partnership director of The Bridge.
The inauguration brought together teachers and staff who explored examples of how the ALC environment can be used in teaching and had the opportunity to try out the methods the classroom supports in practice.
