Book shelves

Closed and messy this summer at the University Library in Växjö

After 20 years, it’s finally time to refurbish the wooden floor at the University Library in Växjö. The work on the floor will continue during the summer and will affect access to both books and facilities, but we promise a beautiful new floor just in time for the autumn semester.

Week 21–33

Floors 2 and 3 will be closed. During this period, the books on floor 2 will be packed in moving boxes and therefore unavailable. At the beginning, it may be possible to borrow books that haven’t yet been packed, but there are no guarantees. Student workspaces and rooms on floors 2 and 3 will be unavailable.

Week 24–27

The University Library in Växjö will be completely closed due to noise and dust from the floor sanding. During this period, you can still reserve books from floors 0 and 1 (the stacks and the 000–300 sections).

Week 28

Floors 0 and 1 are planned to reopen. The unpacking of books and restoration of the facilities will begin. Everything is expected to be back to normal by week 34.

The schedule is preliminary and subject to change. We are actively planning how to best maintain our services during these weeks and will share more information later.
