Become a buddy to an international student in Kalmar or Växjö
Do something that matters – and make friends across the globe. Every year, the Linnaeus Union Buddy Program connects around 500 international students with driven, curious buddies.

As a buddy, you’re someone’s first connection. You welcome them to Kalmar or Växjö, help them find their feet and turn an unfamiliar place into something that feels like home.
But here’s the best part: you don’t just give – you gain at least as much.
New perspectives, global friendships and experiences you’ll carry with you for life. Often the simplest moments matter most – a coffee, a laugh, an invitation that turns into a friendship. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to care.
