Linnaeus University Hosts “IT Woman of the Year” in the Linnaeus Region
For the fourth year in a row, the IT Woman of the Year in the Linnaeus Region award will be presented, a recognition celebrating women who inspire, lead, and make a difference in IT and digitalization. The aim is to highlight role models, regardless of their role or background, and to showcase the many paths into a field that needs both competence and diversity.
The award was established by the association Digitri in Växjö and has quickly grown into an important meeting place for the region’s tech networks. This year, the event is organized by WiTech in collaboration with Linnaeus University, with the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology and the Department of Informatics serving as hosts. Together, they aim to recognize role models who contribute to developing and broadening the IT industry, while inspiring more women to pursue careers in technology and digital innovation.
It feels both natural and important that Linnaeus University is involved in IT Woman of the Year. We want to be an active part of the region’s growth in digitalization and technology, while highlighting the women who are leading the way.
Nominations for IT Woman of the Year in the Linnaeus Region 2025 are now open. Anyone can nominate a colleague, manager, coworker, student, or friend who inspires others in IT and digitalization. Someone who makes a difference, challenges norms, or drives progress in the industry.
The event will take place on November 26 in Växjö, bringing together representatives from business, academia, and the public sector. Everyone is warmly welcome to nominate and participate!
More information, nominations, and event registration are available on WiTech’s website.
