European Forest Institute Annual Conference 2026
EFI 2026 Annual Conference will take place on 16-18 September at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden.
The 2026 EFI Scientific Seminar will explore how forest conflicts emerge, how they are governed, and how they can be constructively addressed through mediation and diplomacy.
The overarching objective is to deepen participants’ conceptual understanding of forest conflicts while exposing them to concrete tools and mindsets for conflict transformation and forest diplomacy.

The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organisation established by European States through an intergovernmental convention. Established in 1993, EFI is a platform for forest-related research, policy support, and knowledge exchange.

This conference is a sustainability-assured meeting in accordance with Linnaeus University’s guidelines for sustainable events. These guidelines are linked to the 17 global goals in Agenda 2030 and comprise the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, the social, and the environmental.
