Digital Transformation and Beyond - A DARIAH-SE Event
Digital technologies are rapidly reshaping the ways in which cultural heritage is documented, preserved, accessed, and interpreted.
From 3D digitization and digital infrastructures to emerging questions of resilience, sustainability, and future-making, the heritage sector is increasingly engaging with technological transformation not merely as a technical challenge, but as a broader cultural and societal process. At the same time, these developments raise important questions concerning access, representation, long-term preservation, and the role of digital infrastructures in producing meaningful change within heritage practices and institutions.
The event Heritage Futures: Digital Transformation and Beyond, organized by DARIAH-SE and the Huminfra consortium, brings together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of cultural heritage, digital humanities, and infrastructure studies. Through a combination of practical workshops and thematic presentations, the event explores both current technological applications and broader conceptual perspectives on heritage futures. Topics include 3D digitization of cultural heritage, digital cultural resilience and protection, infrastructures, and the role of heritage processes in shaping possible futures in a rapidly changing world.
