Open Data and Data Management in the Humanities: Less Complicated Than You Think!
Open science and open data are reshaping research practices in Sweden, but what does this mean for scholars in the humanities?
Session 1: Getting Started with Open Data in the Humanities This introductory session explores the basics of these practices and how open data practices can be integrated throughout the research data lifecycle. The session also includes a brief demonstration of the platform DORIS, developed by the Swedish National Data Service (SND) for publishing and sharing research data. Specialist from SND will participate in the session and be available for questions.
About the event: Join us in fall 2026 for a seminar series on open data and research data management for humanities researchers. The series consists of four sessions covering open science in the humanities, the FAIR and CARE principles, legal and ethical considerations, and practical workflows for managing research data.
This series is jointly organized by the Huminfra nodes at Humlab, Umeå University; Digital Human Science, Stockholm University; and Digital Humanities, Linnaeus University.
