LUCIA Workshop on Fractional Calculus and Processes
We are delighted to announce the LUCIA Workshop on Fractionality, taking place from December 8-12, 2025, at Linnaeus University in Växjö. Following the success of our inaugural event, this workshop will again serve as a gathering for researchers and experts in the field. The focus will be on the latest developments in non-locality, fractional processes, and their diverse applications, fostering new collaborations and lively scientific discussions in the warm spirit of the Lucia season.
The workshop aims to foster a vibrant environment for the exchange of ideas and to spark new research directions among specialists in the fields of fractionality and non-locality. We consider a range of interconnected topics, with cross-disciplinary dialogue and collaboration.
The scope of the workshop includes:
- Non-locality
- Fractional processes
- Fractional calculus
- Simulation of long-range phenomena and fractional processes
- Applications of fractionality and non-locality
The workshop is intentionally timed to coincide with Sweden's beautiful Lucia celebrations. The main celebration on December 13 is one of the country's most cherished traditions, bringing light to the Scandinavian winter. Attendees will have the chance to experience this unique cultural event, marked by processions of white-clad Lucias bearing candles, singing traditional songs, and enjoying saffron buns and glögg.
We are also pleased to announce the Winter School in Fractional Calculus and Processes, a connected event designed for young researchers, which will take place just before the workshop.
Registration for the workshop is free but mandatory and done by e-mail to Wolfgang Bock. Further details regarding the schedule, speakers, and abstracts will be provided at a later date. We look forward to welcoming you to Växjö!
